Modern bathrooms are primarily functional space and minimal use of colors. Shades of white, gray, concrete, stone and wood have been fashionable for many seasons.

What's the best time to plan a bathroom renovation?

Planning and decorating a bathroom can be difficult, especially if your goal is to keep it comfortable and follow the latest trends. As with all investments, this needs to be planned. Hiring an interior designer is the best way to design this space. If an interior designer is involved in furnishing the entire home, the bathroom will require a bit more attention as it is the most important room.

You can look for inspiration on the Internet, on the websites of bathroom equipment manufacturers, blogs and other forums devoted to interior design, if you plan to create space yourself. This is the most important step.

The first step in designing a bathroom is to decide what appliances and where they should be. Such a preliminary plan should be included in every home project.

What's fashionable about bathroom walls and floors?

The bathrooms have been decorated with stoneware, ceramic tiles and stone for many years. You can also finish the floor with wood, but it should be exotic wood. Exotic species are more resistant to water than domestic ones. Tile design trends are varied. Gray and white have been popular for years. Supporters of the loft style often prefer tiles imitating concrete, or impregnations protecting concrete floors. Traditionalists may choose to imitate concrete with stone or tiles.

The toilet, bidet and washbasin are bathroom essentials

Depending on the size of the bathroom and its location in the house, there are many variants of sanitary facilities. Two wash basins are required in the matrimonial bathroom. Each toilet must have a wash basin adjacent to the toilet. You can choose models made of white or hand-painted ceramics. The choice of washbasin depends on whether it will be built into the countertop or free-standing above the countertop.

A bidet and a urinal can also be designed for larger bathrooms. These fittings are usually suspended from a rack that is hidden behind a plasterboard wall. Retro style enthusiasts can choose models that are placed on pedestals.

Where to place a bathtub and a shower cubicle?

A bathtub and / or a shower cubicle are indispensable equipment in every large bathroom. You can adjust the dimensions and shape of the shower to the space. Perhaps you prefer long, relaxing baths. One that measures at least 170 cm in length. The hydromassage version is a great option for massage lovers.

A free-standing bathtub will look great in a large bathroom, especially if it has a modern form or on lion legs.
