Which wash basin size should I choose?
A perfectly matched bathroom sink is a guarantee of a beautiful interior design. It is not only functional, but it can add atmosphere to even a small bathroom. So, which sink to choose? Small or large, or maybe medium-sized? Before deciding on the size, it is worth considering whether we prefer a countertop or a free-standing washbasin? We wrote about their advantages in another article to which we refer.
The second criterion to consider when choosing a wash basin is the size of the bathroom. It should be proportional to the size of the room. In a small bathroom, an oversized washbasin will not only look ugly, but will be simply impractical. It will take up too much space and can make it difficult to move around in the room. In turn, a small washbasin installed in a large bathroom will lose its charm. In a way, he will die in the crowd.
The standard width of the washbasin ranges from 40 to 70 centimeters, so sometimes it is worth considering the installation of two washbasins instead of one, which is especially useful in large families.
What depth of the sink?
In addition to the size of the washbasin, another important issue is its depth, which should be approx. 40 cm. Here, too, its shape plays an important role. Usually, countertop washbasins can be much narrower, because some of their functions are taken over by the top on which they are located. As a standard, the deepest are wall-mounted or free-standing washbasins, due to the function they perform.
As you can see, when deciding on a bathroom sink, first choose its type, and then move on to determining its size.
