Magdalena Gazur is a renowned designer of applied ceramics and the artistic director of Manufaktura in Bolesławiec. For years, she has combined respect for local tradition with a modern approach to design, building a bridge between heritage and modernity.

Her designs – strong in form, rooted in culture and conscious of the materials – are appreciated both in Poland and abroad.

Education and experience

She graduated from the Faculty of Ceramics and Glass at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław in 2006, graduating from the 1st Ceramics Design Studio under the supervision of Professor Lidia Kupczyńska-Jankowiak.

Previously, she actively participated in the artistic life of the region, participating and curating the International Ceramics and Sculpture Plein-Air in Bolesławiec. Her artistic and design work is deeply embedded in the identity of a city known for its ceramic traditions.

Projects and awards

Among Magdalena Gazur's most famous designs is the "Lata 60s" collection, inspired by Polish industrial design from decades past. This design earned her a "must have" distinction at the 2020 Łódź Design Festival.

Earlier, in 2016, her "Polish Table" project, created in collaboration with Manufaktura in Bolesławiec, Krzysztof Porcelana, and Julia Crystal Glassworks, was awarded the same distinction. Combining porcelain, stoneware, and glass, the sets captivated with their coherent form and values rooted in Polish craftsmanship.

BlueDot – the power of tradition in a modern version

Magdalena Gazur's latest project is the BlueDot collection, created in collaboration with RAVON Manufactura. This is the first line of bathroom ceramics inspired by the classic cobalt dot motif from Bolesławiec .

This collection, which includes bathtubs and sinks, takes tradition to a whole new level, combining RAVON's handcrafted technology with subtle, thoughtful decoration by Gazur. The collection will premiere on April 16, 2025, at Atelier B.UNIQUE in Warsaw, as part of an event promoting Polish craftsmanship.

A creator with a mission

In her work, Magdalena Gazur consistently cultivates values that are gaining new significance today: locality, durability, material awareness, and an aesthetic rooted in roots. Her approach combines design expertise with a cultural sensitivity, ensuring that each of her projects tells more than just a story of form. She is an artist who does not distance herself from the past, but boldly designs the future of Polish crafts.
