When deciding to buy a bathroom sink, we have a choice of different models, in different sizes, from small through medium to really large models. What size sink should we choose to best fit our interior?
What size sink should I choose?
Perfectly matched bathroom sink is a guarantee of beautiful interior design. It is not only functional, but can also add atmosphere to a small bathroom . So, which sink to choose? Small or large, or maybe medium-sized? Before we decide on the size, it is worth considering whether we prefer a countertop sink or, for example, a free-standing one? We wrote about their advantages in another article, to which we refer.
The second criterion to consider when choosing a sink is the size of the bathroom. It should be proportional to the size of the room. In a small bathroom, a sink that is too large will not only look ugly, but will simply be impractical. It will take up too much space and may make it difficult to move around the room. On the other hand, a small sink installed in a large bathroom will lose its charm. It will somehow get lost in the crowd.
The standard width of a washbasin is between 40 and 70 centimetres, so it is sometimes worth considering installing two washbasins instead of one, which is particularly useful in large families.
How deep is the sink?
In addition to the size of the sink, the second important issue is its depth, which should be around 40 cm. Here, its shape also plays an important role. Typically, countertop sinks can be much narrower, as part of their function is taken over by the countertop they are placed on. Wall-mounted or freestanding sinks are usually the deepest, due to the function they perform.
As you can see, when deciding on a bathroom sink, first choose its type and then move on to determining its size .
