Types of washbasins - which washbasin to choose?

The stores offer countertop, wall, under-counter, recessed, over-cupboard or free-standing washbasins. Let's take a closer look at each of the above-mentioned types of washbasins and we will help you choose the best one.

Wall-mounted washbasins

Wall washbasins are among the most frequently chosen products. They are attached directly to the wall with appropriate screws. It is a practical solution that takes up relatively little space, because they are usually small - up to 50 cm wide. Wall-hung washbasins are a solution recommended especially for small bathrooms.

Countertop washbasins

The countertop washbasins will work well in both small and large bathrooms. They provide more arrangement options than wall-mounted washbasins. They can be placed on countertops or bathroom furniture specially adapted for them. The countertop washbasins are heavy and massive, yet give the interior a modern character. Built-in washbasins

Built-in sinks, as the name suggests, are placed below the level of the countertop. They differ from under-counter washbasins in that their rim protrudes slightly onto the surface of the countertop, and their edges rest on it. It is an aesthetic solution that together with the top create an elegant whole. Built-in washbasins are often sold together with the cabinet, because their opening must be precisely fitted and cut.

Undercounter washbasins

Undercounter washbasins are practically "invisible" because they are located below the level of the countertop. They are simple in form. It is also a relatively cheap and practical solution, because there is a lot of space around them for all bathroom accessories. When buying an undercounter washbasin, we must remember that the countertop and the cabinet on which it will be installed play a greater role if we want to cover its bowl.

Freestanding washbasins

Freestanding washbasins are a solution especially recommended for modern and large bathrooms. They are one of the most expensive ones, but they are available in many original shapes and colors, thanks to which they can be easily adapted to the bathroom design. Design forms will appeal to everyone.
