Most of the bathtubs available on the market are made of four main materials, of which about 90% are dominated by acrylic bathtubs. When arranging a bathroom, however, we are faced with a difficult choice. Which bathtub should you choose to make it the most durable? Let's look at four types of material.

Metal bathtubs

A metal bathtub is also commonly known as an enamel, steel or tin bathtub. It is one of the simplest in terms of construction, which also translates into its price. It is easy to clean, while obtaining a shiny effect. The quality of metal bathtubs is primarily evidenced by the thickness of the sheets and the quality of the enamel used. In the first case, it is from 1.8 mm to 3.5 mm as standard. When deciding to buy a metal bathtub, it is also worth asking whether it is single or double enamelled, which affects its life.

Acrylic bathtubs

The acrylic bathtub is the most frequently purchased product for the bathroom. Why? Because acrylic bathtubs are light and durable. At the same time, they are quieter than enamel ones, warmer and more resistant to scratches and impacts.

The quality of acrylic bathtubs is confirmed by the thickness of the acrylic used, which should not be less than 4 mm. In the case of products with a thickness of 5 mm and more, it is very common for manufacturers to provide an additional warranty of up to 25 years.
